Susie or Robin (hi pt, I love that name) or someone asked about it

awhile back...it comes usually around St. Pat's day. It is based on

book/story of Esther, involves kings and queens & a bad guy (he tries

to kill the Jew's, but is foiled in his plot by brave Esther) named

Haman, who wears a three cornered hat..thus we make cookies called

hamantaschen that have three corners (they are doughy & filled with

fruit, poppy seeds & at my house some are filled with chocolate). It

is not one of the more formal/serious holidays and is really fun for

all - people dress up in costumes (usually based on the story so you

get lots of kings and queens & there are loads of kids that like to be

haman), temples tend to have a carnival, and there is a service were

the story is told and everyone makes noise whenever haman's name is

mentioned...it can get pretty raucaus!!

That sounds like a blast! *lol* What a wonderful holiday.

Thank you for taking time to share about it.

When you can, please post that cookie recipe.

They sound delicious... especially the chocolate filling

ones. :)
