All this talk about bean dips and party snacks

reminded me of this wonderful dip recipe

i recently tried. It was a huge hit at the domino

party i went to last month; i definately plan to

make it again.

Championship Bean Dip

1 can vegetarian refried beans (16 oz.)

1 cup picante sauce

1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

3/4 cup sour cream

1 package (3 oz.) cream cheese, softened

1 Tbs. chili powder

1/4 tsp. ground cumin

Tortilla chips and salsa

In a bowl, combine the first eight ingredients;

transfer to a slow cooker. Cover and cook on

high for 2 hours or until heated through, stirring

once or twice. Serve with tortilla chips and salsa.

Yield: 4 1/2 cups dip

~ Slowcooker note: i have a newer mini-crockette

which heats quite hot, so even though the recipe

directions called for cooking it on the high setting

for 2 hrs., i adjusted and did it on a low setting.

i was worried it would boil or scorch on high.

If you have an older crockpot you would probably

be safe on the high setting.... use your best judgement

there.

little voice at the end of the day that says...

" I'll try again tomorrow " .
