Guest guest
Oh my yes, i can just imagine. There has been some negative press associated with both these words, and often people will tend to be suspicious of what they are unfamiliar with, choosing to believe the bad reports and ignore learning about any of the positive stories. Guess that goes with anything slightly different from today's " normal " . i get some weird reactions to my lacto-ovo vegetarianism, so i can just imagine what you get with veganism. Now around here many folks assume you are very religious if you are a homeschooler... and i personally am not. i am more of a secular homeschooler who is doing this because my children wanted me to, and because their needs were not being met in the public schools here. [no fault of the teachers who are over worked and get too little pay while the administration gets fatter.... *rant over* hehehe]. Guess you and i are just weirdos! *lol* Cheers to all the people who go against the flow. :::lifts coffeemug in salute::: ~ pt ~ Autumn is a good time for visiting; During its short days there is work for all... Guest guest
so right...people equate these things as weird...so frustrating We considered homeschooling when we were in NJ, we were not in an area that had decent schools...where we are now the schools are great & don't freak out at our veggie & Jewish kids, luckily! I have a friend who homeschools her four & like you she is very secular & they are also veggie!! We do have a rather large group here that is super christian and homeschool for that reason, I think it is interesting the sort of " two sides " of homeschooling! Shawn that show sounded interesting... We've got a severely asthmatic child, so occassionally I find myself asking someone (a new friend who asks him over and doesn't know us)...got cats? any smokers? and by they way he doesn't eat meat...I can always tell by the reaction if they'll be a return invite!! Luckily, out this way, people are open minded and understanding!! m
