Guest guest
Well...Let's see what's happening in the area...The Britt Festival in Jacksonville is wound out by the 20th, but they have the sold out ZZTop concert at the Jackson County fairgrounds on their schedule, and that is on the 20th...The Shakespeare Festival is still running, going until the end of October actually....The Walk in Peace event this year is not at the Jackson Wellsprings, but at the Lithia Park bandshell on the 24th. It appears to be a much smaller event this year, but there may still be some great musical groups. Ever hear Kat and Windsong, or Alice Di Micele? They're the musical analog to your pictures, like the one that graces the homepage of this group. They have performed at the Walk in Peace events in the past. The vegetarian cafe, Pilaf, is just a half a block from Lithia Park, too....Oh, they have a website now: http://www.pilafrestaurant.com - has a menu to entice your mom with....The US Fish and Wildlife Forensics Labs used to have a tour in the fall. It's an amazing facility, worth seeing by anyone interested in protecting wildlife around the world. They can distinguish whether an individual deer of a particular species came from a protected population or a nonprotected population just from a blood sample. Next door to that is the ScienceWorks museum. They'll only be open on Sundays around when your mom visits....Well, that's a start for things to think about.... ~ PT ~ " <patchouli_troll> wrote: > ~ i am a native NYer... so mom is coming from NY. > She has been here a few times but never been to > Ashland yet. > > ~ pt ~
