Neat little spice mixes where you add sour cream or milk to make instant dips and dressings. Alot of cool spices and dried herbs too. There are places that sell pure capsicum. That is crazy but would be interesting to add a couple of drops to dishes that you didn't want the chile flavoring in. I'm making the chile oil this weekend (have been swamped lately and haven't had time). I got my dried chiles particularly for this recipe since you said red pepper flakes are for wimps. LOL. No, PT, I haven't found anything else to use the dried chiles for. Might be a good time to buy a used salsa or chile cookbook for. I plan on at the least shredding them up with my hand blender to add to recipes like this one. Probably would work well in marinades and the like - kick up the tofu. Down here we are enduring the 4th part of our summer. The walk outside for 5 minutes til you start sweating up a storm type - tis the only type of storm we've seen in some time here. I don'ts care how hot keep bringin on the chiles! Whooohaw.
