Guest guest
Thank you for the warm welcome! Shawn, I am more than happy to share the info on the houses. I will answer offline so as to not take up space here. If there's enough interest, I'll post on the list, too. Thank you for all the Hot and Sour Soup recipes!!! I can't wait to start trying every one! YUM!!! My favorite restaurant closed, and I am going through H & S soup withdrawal. The soymilk machine is super easy to use. Just put in water and soybeans, press the button and it heats, grinds and cooks the beans. No, it doesn't taste as good as Silk (my favorite), but I'm still working on it. I usually add 1 T. of tapioca pearls in the basket to help thicken it. To the freshly-made milk, I will add a bit of salt, some sugar and vanilla. I've grown accustomed to the taste of it plain, but as I use it in cooking, ice cream, yogurt and protein shakes, there's no problem. And it's CHEAP!!!!!! After the expense of the machine, of course, it's just the cost of soybeans. I can get organic beans at about $1.25/lb, and you only use 1/2 cup for almost 2 qts. of soymilk. My current favorite drink is an eggcream. In a large glass, I take maybe 1/3 cup soymilk, chocolate syrup to taste (mix well at this point), and fill with sparkling water or club soda. Give another stir and to get a bit of a " head " . YUM! It's reminiscent of my childhood days on the East coast. Sorry if this is a bit long.
