Hi Jenn,

Happy you got to the Asian market. I grew up shopping in Asian markets and

there are still tons in my neighborhood. Pick up some udon noodles next time.

In the grocery store they are usually 1.59 a pack in the deli area or by the

tofu. In the Asian mkt. you can sometimes find them as low as 49 cents a pack.

I toss the flavor packet away because it usually has MSG. in it (read the label)

and I use the noodles as a quick soup with veggie broth and vegetables. There

are quite a few things I make with those noodles. I usually rinse them first to

lower the salt content. If you like sesame seeds you can get them for a good

price. If they aren't roasted it only takes a few minutes to toast the in a dry

hot skillet. They are bursting with flavor and I use them very often. My

favorite are the black sesame seeds. I'm sure you have eaten them before on the

edged of whole grain breads but never noticed or you thought they were poppy

seeds.

awesome. The girls were fussy so Troy and I rushed through. Trying

not to annoy anyone. Turns out the owner has a 16 month old little

girl. So our girls didn't bother him.

 

Anyway, I bought the correct tofu for baked tofu. Made it tonight.

I didn't marinate it long enough cuz I was too excited. But it

turned out!

I'm going back to the Asian Market. I wish you all could come. I

couldn't believe how much cheaper the tofu was. Neat mushrooms and

spices. I do agree with someone who said they brought someone to

interpret. Maybe next time, I'll hit the owner up with some

information.
