Guest guest
Well, the torpedo is a mild, sweet oblong red onion and the burgermeister I think is your standard tasting red onion, it is large and round. The Red Torpedo is great for cooking, especially grilling. You can probably find them at a farmers' market. Oh, and the white onion is called Ringmaster, which is a large White Spanish. It is definitely a strong onion. Cutting even a small one made my eyes water! I have to say that out of all the things new that I grew this year, my onions turned out the best. I'm hoping next year I will have even more room, as I didn't plant many of the seeds that I bought. Of course towards the end I was feeling overwhelmed with all the picking, but I think that mostly had to do with my first trimester of pregnancy. I suddenly have found that I'm back to my normal energy level and it was on Tuesday that I went out to the garden after work and harvested almost everything. I didn't even make dinner until almost 8pm! I mostly grew these onions for James as he likes to start any meal with sauteed onions and he loves raw onion and cheese sandwhiches (yuk!). , GeminiDragon <thelilacflower> wrote: > It gives me an idea, I wish I was there to take some of those onions off your hands. What is the Burgermeister onion like and also the Red Torpedo? > Donna
