Guest guest
The best way to clean a leek is to slice it in half lengthwise. That way you can " fan " out all the layers under running water. I've also sliced the leek first and then wash all the slices. I also harvested my leeks, but I crowded them too much and they didn't get really fat; but I do have lots of white! Perhaps I'll use them all up making a leek and potatoe soup. I harvested half of my potatoes, too. Ate some of the fingerlings last night and ohhhh they were heavenly. Beautiful texture with a wonderful flavor that I tried not to mask too much with my butter salt and pepper! Denise , subprong <subprong@g...> wrote: > Leeks are definitely tough to clean. Guest guest
mmmm...fingerlings & leeks, some of my favorites! I usually cut leeks first (so I can rinse off the cutting board and knife) and I put the slices in my colander and rinse them well, then send them for a spin if I need them dried. m
