Guest guest
I bought a round Pampered Chef baking stone about a year ago. It remains in it's packaging. I'd really love to use it, as being that I have parrots, I'm Freecycling all of my Teflon. Any tips? Thanks! Cathrine
Guest guest
Catherine, dig out that stone and give it a try. I've used my round stone for years. Use it to bake anything that won't " roll " off the sides! I mainly use it for pizza, cookies, rolls etc. There are lots of recipes put out by Pampered Chef, maybe you can find one of their cookbooks or go online. My stone is very seasoned at this point and I don't do anything before I put food on it. I think I remember that you need to oil or " grease " the stone for the first several times that you cook on it. You do not have to preheat the stone before you place food on it either. To clean, just rinse and scrap off food with a plastic type scrapper. You can soak it in warm water if need be. Do not put any soap on the stone. Food doesn't cook any faster (most the time) but the browning is very even . Give it a try.
