Guest guest
Mel - I've stuck rice to my pan, too - it sucks getting it off! I did a combo of the suggestions - soaked it overnight - scrubbed it with baking soda/combined with heating it with warm water - I finally got most of it, but you could still see sort of all the little kernels burnt shadows (it was somehow sad) - not bits, just shadows - I just continued to use the pan and this eventually faded!! I think the trick to getting the rice not to stick is to stir it just as it all comes to a boil, before you smack the lid down & don't peek for ages, then be sure you turn the heat way, way down - this part is tricky with electric burners - I've been diligent in keeping mine very low and haven't had stuck rice in a long time. Like Donna I rinse it and stir it in butter or olive oil too...perhaps this helps?! Donna & I think Susie - I love the idea of the purple potatoes in that salad - when I first read that I thought, oh what great colors!! m
