Way cool. A few sushi bars that make some nice vegan rolls [sushi rice, vegetables, chopped cashews, chili sauce, nori, etc]... nice, but pretty limited in variety. It is a bit easier as a lacto-ovo veg to find some nice dining. The Laughing Clam serves several nice vegetarian dishes on their menu, and the pub-style atmosphere is pleasant. Other places serve the usual salads and gardenburger sandwiches. It sure isn't vegetarian paradise though! *lol* > Despite Darryl Cherney's song about Grants Pass, I do know some > great people up there, but not that many vegetarians from there, so > I wonder how that must feel for you. ~ i have never heard of that song or musical artist before... but i can just imagine. *lol* As far as being a lone veggie in a meat eating town, it doesn't bother me that much. i get a nice sense of community from my pals here online, and i can always find something to fix for myself at home. i enjoy sharing my favorite vegetarian dishes at mixed gatherings and seeing the pleasantly surprised faces on the people who assumed my dietary choice means all i eat are boring meals of bland rabbit food. >If you ever need > recommendations for eating places in Ashland, I certainly can help > with that. It helps that there are lots of them here. ~ Thank you very much. i just may take you up on that in the future. i enjoy Ashland and don't get there as much as i'd like; even less now with the gas prices being so high. But i think it would be a nice ride on the motorcycle, so maybe we will visit soon. > I had also > noticed the artwork on this group's homepage and on your > profile. Is that yours? They're nice regardless. Thanks for the > welcome.... ~ Alas, no. They are not mine, but those of one of my favorite artists, John William Waterhouse (1849-1917). i am also quite fond of Maxfield Parrish's work, but i have yet to use them to decorate the list. i think the graceful depictions of the female form by Waterhouse reflect well the gentle, yet noble attributes of modern-day vegetarians. ~ pt ~
