Guest guest
You are an inspiration Angela. I wish you a wonderful day. You don't need any recipes, you have our files and that is a big good cookbook right there.....Donna Angela <angelaamy2001 wrote:Chandra, I don't have recepies but have been dealing with dry mouth (have Sjogren's Syndrome, it destroys the moisture producing glands) for many years. Please tell her to consult her dentist. no saliva affects the teeth too and a dentist should have suggestions to help with the dry mouth. I've found chewing gum to stimulate my functioning sal. glands to produce more, always carry water- sipping all the time. Aromatherapy too, any smell that made the mouth water before surgery will encourage saliva flow from the remaining glands. (cinnamon works best for me ) Depression under these circumstances is totally normal- this big a change is equivelent to the death of a loved one- please encourage her to get counceling too - keep the depression from escalating and God knows she needs all the love and support there is!! Plus a group of cancer survivors dealing with similar problems will have helpful tips as well as moral support. If her oncologist doesn't know of any groups the oncology dept of the hospital should and the American Cancer society will too- pretty sure they have a web site. Hope this is helpful. Please tell her from me congrats on beating the cancer and hang in there, things will get better. Seems hard to beleive sometimes I know but life's proved it to me over and over again during my almost 57 years! peace and love, Angela PuterWitch <puterwitch wrote: Hi All, This is real important. We could be saving someone from serious depression here. A friend of mine had mouth cancer and she literally had half her mouth removed. She has next to no saliva which makes eating normal stuff impossible. who I am is fine, it's just this body that's disabled! Mail - Find what you need with new enhanced search. Learn more.
