Everyone is welcome. The American Vegan Conference, organized by the American Vegan Society, will be held at The Farm in Summertown, Tennessee, August 10-14. Located in the middle of the state, the conference will be easily accessible to anyone in Tennessee and surrounding states. Featured will be many nationally recognized vegetarian authorities and authors, plus the opportunity to find out about The Farm's pioneering work in soy-food production, nutrition and environmental education. The Farm was founded in 1971. It is located 75 miles south of Nashville on Tennessee Highway 20, between US 43 to the east and the Natchez Trace Parkway to the west. The rustic setting will afford conference attendees an occasion for back-to-nature relaxation. " We're fortunate to have such a quality program come so close to us, " said Lige Weill, president of the Tennessee Vegetarian Society, headquartered in Knoxville. " A lot of people are becoming interested in a more healthful approach to food, and this will be a great chance to learn from some of the top experts in the nation.
