Guest guest
http://www.lonelyplanet.com/mapshells/north_america/alaska/alaska.htm Here's a map showing where she lives. It's just above Nome, facing the Russian point, Prince of Wales is not the same as Prince of Wales Island, that's a fisherman's resort area. On this map she is at the tip of the left area. It's only 20 miles from Russia. The Siberian fishermen barter and they help one another with homemade blankets, teas (she picked me tundra tea and mails me a bag each year). The Russian Eskimos are very poor and have. After WWll many Eskimos in her village have died of cancer and some of the fish have 3 eyes, etc. I'm sure the military dumped many things off in the water when the war was over. It's a vary hard life up there........Donna " Each morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most. Guest guest
She does but you have to take care of your loved ones and her Mom was hit with Altzheimers at age 53, she's now 62 and is bad off and there's no one else to care for her. Her heart is in Long Beach and she was 90% vegetarian when she lived here so life is not easy. She will be back one day, I'm sure of it. She misses her veggies..............Donna PuterWitch <puterwitch wrote:doesn't she want to get out? - GeminiDragon the group Friday, July 22, 2005 2:55 PM Hi Chanda & Jenni (OT Alaska) http://www.lonelyplanet.com/mapshells/north_america/alaska/alaska.htm Here's a map showing where she lives.
