~ Heck yeah, it is nice. So many natural food store items

are expensive that i wouldn't get to try them if this place

didn't get a sampling in every so often. Like one day i was

able to buy vegan carob chips by Sunspire.

~ i LOVE slaws. There is this one recipe i have yet to

try out of that Simply Heavenly cookbook for Cajun Slaw.

It sounds like a great idea, but a few of the ingredients

it calls for makes me wonder... i mean, i don't want to

mix up a batch of it and find it tastes too weird or gross

and have to toss it all out. *lol*

The basic ingredients are: vegan mayo, prepared mustard,

olive oil, steak sauce [eek], Louisiana Hot Sauce [mmmm],

catsup [another eek], sea salt, garlic salt, wine vinegar,

lemon juice, cabbage, bell peppers, and onions.

i just don't know about those two ingredients; have you ever

tried this one before?

~ That sounds really good. Are you still a member of that

chili-lover group? Do they post many recipes there?

~ Will do. FWIW, i think that jalap looks like old Elvis

trying to recapture the spark of a young Elvis. *g*

I'm the same way. I wish I could try more of the natural food products. I'd

go nuts if I had the money and try the specialty things as mentioned here

such as the tofutti ice-cream, vegan cheeses and tofurkeys. There are tons

of cool products.

I need to head to one and stock up on the bulk stuff. I haven't made the

vegan cheese that contains jalapenos and natural yeast flakes in quite some

time. It's been awhile since I fried or baked some wonderful falafel. And

the wonderful chili seasoned mix with tsp. Gyro subst. mixes... Yah need to

head back, soon. lol.

I have never tried that one before. It sounds very TANGY! I could see a

little vinegar " or " a dash of steaksauce (or hot sauce but not Louisianas).

....but all 4 (including hot sauce and catsup)! Interesting. Catsup in any

recipe has got to be a no-no.

Take those 4 out and it sounds pretty decent. If it were me, I'd make it

without the big 4 (or make my own recipe) and then work them in for one

helping and see how it tastes.

It would have to be really bad for me to throw anything out. If worse comes

to worse, I add a whole bunch of heat to drown out the flavor, lol.

I think I was a member of a few at one time but for the most part not

anymore. Some recipes were posted occassionaly.
