Guest guest
HI! I have yet another question! I have been trying new things and soem of the dishes were good but mor ebland that I prefer. On the other hand a lot of spicey prepackaged dishes have too much salt. My question is what spices etc. can I use to cook with that will spice up dishes but without adding the high salt content of store bought sauces? I like medium to hot... food. Thanks again lovely people J Lyn Without ink, without pen, without paper... I'd shrivel to a shadow of myself. Guest guest
oh my there are so many.... all depends on what you are going for. For an Indian style add curry powder or Thai curry paste yum, just make sure the curry paste has no fish in it, and I use basil so much I keep with my salt and pepper, and also red pepper flakes. blessings, Chanda - J Lyn Thursday, July 14, 2005 10:05 PM Cooking to spice it up without salt HI! Guest guest
Hi: I like to use chile powder, cumin seeds, ginger, cinnamon. I also like Basil, oregano, fennel seed. Black pepper. I have this great spice called Tandoori seasoning. oh yes don't forget about sage, thyme, crushed red pepper, white pepper. I also have this pepper called Mignonette Pepper it is a mix of Tellicheery Black pepper, Muntok White Pepper and Moroccan coriander. experiment look around the store you never know what you will find. I found the tandoori seasoning while walking around a store that specializes in selling spices. They had all sorts of curries, hot curries mild curries , medium curries. They have different spice blends with and without salt. gayle
