I am loosing respect! They are serious!!!? The real Mayo Clinic!? A mayonnaise clinic, maybe...? Someone who is actually thinking about trying this diet sent me diet below... I don't get that eiter! Whether I believe life begins at birth or conception, I would not share participation in abortion experiences with someone who I know is " pro life, " just out of respect for their convictions! Slaughtering living, breathing, thinking, feeling animals is murder! This diet is for patients needing to lose weight fast for by-pass surgery ALL soft drinks need to be Diet and caffeine free You may NOT have: white onions, potatoes, and celery You May Have: Red onions broccoli cabbage Bell peppers green onions carrots Radishes spinach leaf tomatoes Cucumbers lettuce Important: Stay on the diet for 12 days & stop the diet for 2 days New Mayo Clinic Diet 2 ½ months, you should lose 52 pounds Breakfast: ½ grapefruit or juice (unsweetened) 2 eggs, any style 2 slices of bacon Lunch: ½ grapefruit or juice (unsweetened) Salad, any dressing Meat, any style, any amount Dinner: ½ grapefruit (unsweetened) Meat, any style, any amount – fish may be substituted Vegetable, any green or red (cooked in butter or any seasoning), OR salad as above Coffee or Tea 1 cup Bedtime snack- glass of tomato juice or skim milk Instructions: At any meal, you may eat until you are full, until you cannot eat anymore. Don't eliminate anything from the diet, especially don't skip bacon at breakfast or omit salads, it is the combination of the foods that burn fat. The grapefruit is important because it acts as a catalyst that starts the burning process. Cut down on coffee, it affects the insulin balance that hinders the burning process. Try to limit one cup at meal times. Don't eat between meals, if you eat the combination of foods suggested you will not get hungry. Note: The diet completely eliminates sugars and starches which are lipids and form fat. Fat does not form fat. It helps burn it so you can fry foods in butter and use butter generously on vegetables. DO NOT EAT: Desserts, breads, and white vegetables, or seet potatoes. You may double or triple your helpings of meat, salad or vegetables, eat until you are stuffed.
