Guest guest
I had an interesting conversation with someone on Saturday. They told me they actually spoke to the produce manager at our local grocery chain store and asked why their organic produce was hit and miss, not great quality and expensive. Since the guy knew her he was pretty honest and told her that the warehouse holds the organic produce for a really long time and then right before going bad it's sent to the stores. Then people see poor quality produce and say " I don't want to spend $3 on that when it's almost spoiled. " It's all politics. The grocer association is a mamoth of political pressure and have attempted to defeat bottle bills, nutritional labeling, GMO labeling and anything else that consumers what to help the environment and our own lives. sad.... Denise I agree that $8.00 for an eggplant is outrageous How much was it per pound? That would be a luxury at that price. Sometimes I buy organic yellow squash and it's brown around the inside of the circle. I wonder what causes that, it even tastes bitter. You would think being organic it would taste better. I have bought many organic potatoes that are green under the skin and that is supposed to be bad for you. have you ever noticed that?..............Donna
