Guest guest
Donna...glad you mentioned that about the potatoes...I thought I was just keeping them in a bad spot in my pantry, despite having moved them to different shelves...figured it was me somehow! I have read that the greening comes from how they are stored, I can't remember now why or what - but yes it is not supposed to be very good for you, my mil says if you cook them well it is okay, but not if there is too much color or too deep. Certain veggies/fruits I really prefer only organic and potatoes are one of them...I really hate when they are green!! The weight issue and poverty...I think some of it is also education and what people are exposed to. So few families anymore spend time in the kitchen preparing meals or even sitting together to eat...or even sitting to eat (this is a pet peeve of mine). So many people just eat out or eat instant things...they have only known that, then there is the sort of addictive quality of that food...and it just doesn't satisfy you either...and I don't think you register a meal properly if you don't sit and savor it at least a bit. That's my two cents:) m
