Guest guest
I was just checking on the status of the Mad (or as they say, not " mad " but " pissed off " ) Cow alerts here in the U.S. I found that last quote in this article humorous. I know I'm taking it a bit out of context here, but how many cows do you see sprinting to enter the " food supply " (or rather killed and chopped up)? Thank goodness they blocked the cow (which wasn't capable of walking because of the disease)! Sheesh... ---- i-Newswire, - In what appears to be the first case of mad cow disease in a cow born in the United States, the Agriculture Department said that the cow had originally tested negative last year but new tests were ordered two weeks ago and came back positive. Human health is not at risk in the new case since the cow was a " downer, " which means it was unable to walk. Animals such as this are not allowed into the food supply in the first place. " This animal was blocked from entering the food supply because of the firewalls we have in place. Americans have every reason to continue to be confident in the safety of our beef, " said Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns.
