Guest guest
My niece and her fiance will graduate from medical college in April. She is a vegetarian but once in a great while will eat fish ( she craves a shrimp here and there for some reason). Her fiance is about 80% vegetarian. They insist meat is not necessary in a diet to maintain good health, and there are many up and coming doctors in class with her that are vegan or vegetarian so I think they must see plenty of bad news out there in the meat world. My Mother has been a vegetarian for all of her 81 yrs. Just a few years ago she was hit with fibromyalgia but she takes no medication except a thyroid pill each morning and since her brother passed away 2 weeks ago her blood pressure is just a little high and I'm sure it's from the upset. Her red blood count is high, her cholesterol is 145 and her skin is beautiful and smooth and her mind is alert. bookjunky wrote: Hi Jenni, thanks for your information. I am sorry, I was wrong...I did mean iron and not protein. My internist insists there is no iron the same as what is in meat. Doctors...they think they know best... Thanks again, Kay
