Guest guest
I live in Illinois. Usually grocery shop in Wisconsin. California would be a bit of a schlep! But I remember that the last time I was in CA, in 1982, almost every place we went for breakfasts offered avocado as a choice in an omlette. ......I also remember Carl's Jr had sandwiches in wheat buns. And... thinking about restaurants offering choices... I'm remembering that there was a burger place we'd go to in Austin, Tx, c. 1970, that offered something called a ham. It was a vegetarian sandwich... " Ham " because there was no burger in it. But back to my point... Avocados good! :^) ===== --- GeminiDragon <thelilacflower wrote: Are you back east or in an area where there aren't avocados around much? I'm in Calif and we use them in out sandwiches, salads, very common here. I know my nephew is living in Nashville now and he said they sure are not popular there and his wife has never tasted one and neither has her Mom. That's wonderful you are giving new fruits and veggies a try. I'll bet you find new dishes to satisfy your cravings. Have you been eating tofu or any of the veggie burgers or tofu dogs? Any new grains or beans in your diet yet? " The cat did not respond. She did not believe in paraphrasing anybody. If people pursued this same feline wisdom, there'd be a lot fewer misunderstandings. Guest guest
i love avocados. one of my favorite ways to eat them is simple....sliced with fresh lime juice and tabasco sauce drizzled over them. guacamole is so good too. i like them on sandwiches and tossed into soups (mexican inspired soups, like tortilla soup) where they kinda melt. susie --- Jiraph Wirpel <wirpel wrote: > But back to my point...
