Guest guest
This is a favorite side dish of mine. Kids eat it right up, especially with a tofu hotdogs sliced into it. " Chinese Sesame Noodles " 12 oz. thin spaghetti 1 Tbsp. sesame seeds 1 Tbsp. canola or olive oil 1 garlic clove minced 1/2 tsp. ginger root grated 1 cup shredded carrots 1/4 cup sliced green onions 4 tsp. soy sauce or tamari 1 tsp. sesame oil Break spaghetti in thirds and cook according to package directions, drain and cover to keep warm. Cook sesame seeds in large dry skillet (no oil) over medium high heat until they toast.. Remove from skillet and set aside. Heat oil in skillet over medium high heat until hot. Add garlic, ginger root and carrots, cook and stir about 3 mins. or until lightly browned. Add onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds and pasta noodles, and cook and stir about 2-3 minutes or until thoroughly heated. *Note you can add thawed frozen peas at the end also. I use the black sesame seeds because they really make the dish look attractive and have a little more flavor but the tan seeds are fine. I also like a little chopped cilantro as a garnish.
