back and ready to cook

Well we're back from lovely Portland. I filled myself up on things I

can't readily get here: good Thai food, Toby's tofu pate (I had

forgotten about this!), organic tortilla chips, great and cheap beer,

Stumptown coffee......oh I could go on....but it also meant that we

were eating out a lot and now I'm ready to hunker down in my kitchen.

 

Since we got home late last night I haven't looked at my garden; but

the potatoes from the bedroom window looked like they were going

crazy! I also just got an email from a friend here that a local CSA is

still selling asparagus and is currently bagging some mixed greens

with flowers and herbs. The CSA is about 40 minutes from us, maybe a

bit closer and I've been wanting to get out there.

 

It's great how things are just lining up for me. I ask the universe

for something and it gives me what I want in just the right time!

 

Some great new recipes just posted, look forward to trying some.

 

Oh, and one last thing. In a conversation with some friends (in

Portland) James actually claimed that I make the best lentil loaf! I

nearly fell of my chair when I heard him say that. I use the recipe

from here, Donna is that yours? Anyway, I think that's the first time

I've actually heard him compliment my cooking to someone else! :-)
