Guest guest Posted May 30, 2006 Report Share Posted May 30, 2006 That's interesting. I saw something on Discovery station last year about all the seasonings, garlic plugs, etc. used to flavor meat. There wasn't decent refrigeration all those years ago and since most of the meat was rancid they would highly season so they could tolerate the taste and smell, much of it ended up as beef jerky so they could carry it with them and not worry about it spoiling.
