Guest guest
Funny that one of our favorites 'the potato' which to some are called the 'Irish potato' originated in the Andean Mountains of South America, dated to at least 400 BC.. Taken to Europe in the 1500's by Spanish conquistadors and later in that century cultivated by the English in Ireland. Same goes for the tomato and most of the peppers that we enjoy. According to what I have read it took quite awhile for the potato and the tomato to 'catch on' as most people were suspicious of the new food and thought them to be poison. Today it is hard to make any recipe without the potato or the tomato in some form. Smiles and hugs Deanna
