Guest guest
I noticed on another site that it is National Vegetarian Week here in the UK, an event which almost passed me by. I was just checking on the Vegetarian Society website to see what, if anything, was going on in my area and I was pleased to see that Vegetarian Week " and its associated dietary benefits " are being promoted by the National Health Service here in Scotland. My own doctor has been very positive about me being vegetarian, but I am really happy to see that this attitude is also coming down from the dizzy heights of the NHS Health promotion department here. I wonder if this means that food options for vegetarians in hospital is any better. Christie
Guest guest
Dear Christie, In Kingston Hospital, Surrey, where I work, the patient can request their choice of food. There is a Kitchen in every floor and this enable the food to be serve hot to the patients. I don't know about other NHS hospitals in other areas though. Perhaps it depends on how much money each Local Authorities have in the kitty? In the Private Wards, each patient is spoilt for choice. They get the best of everything. These privilege is reciprocated by the premiums they have been contributing each month :-) Best Wishes, Wee On Behalf Of christie_0131 Wednesday, May 24, 2006 10:03 PM UK National Vegetarian Week I noticed on another site that it is National Vegetarian Week here in the UK, an event which almost passed me by.
