Yes Mandoline's is the correct spelling for them. The one I use(I sent the

link, read the reviews that folks have written about it) works awesome on

potatoes and everything else. I make fries and hashbrowns with it or slice the

potato across the middle before using it and make diced potatoes. I make cute

little carrot matchstick and larger pieces for stir fry. Slices tomatoes either

thick or thin. With onions you won't have time to cry, you slice or dice them

so fast. I wash the whole bunch of celery and hold it and run it over the

mandoline and have it diced or sliced celery in no time flat. Homemade soups

take no time at all to dice up the ingredients. I make great shreaded cabbage

on it for coleslaw. I hold the cabbage when I run it across the mandoline. YOu

use the safety grip for all else besides celery, carrots and cabbage. Having a

demonstration would really make a difference in seeing how to use these.

I love my mandoline. : )))

<Mandolines,??? I researched it on line and what I read is that it

doesn't work too well on potatoes.??? It looked scary to me. Do you

know how old fashioned I am? I will use my old grater or potato

pealer until I find one of these mandolines at my local thrift store.

Does anyone have a lot of practice using one of these things?
