Guest guest Posted May 17, 2006 Report Share Posted May 17, 2006 I usually substitute canola oil for shortening or margarine with good results. As someone else said just decrease the amount a bit. For example if the original recipe called for 1/3 cup shortening, I'd use 1/4 cup canola oil. I don't have an exact formula but that gives you an idea.
