Guest guest Posted May 14, 2006 Report Share Posted May 14, 2006 Curried Mushrooms and Peas 1 cup button mushrooms 1 cup green peas 2 medium onions 2 tomatoes 1 tsp. ginger paste 1 tsp. garlic paste 1 tsp. coriander powder 1 1/2 tsps. red chili powder 2 tsps. turmeric powder 1/2 tsp. garam masala powder 20 to 22 cashew nuts 2 tbsps. coriander leaves for garnish salt to taste 2 tbsps. oil Soak cashew nuts for 1/2 an hour in warm water and grind to a fine paste. Chop mushrooms into 4 pieces and keep aside. Grate onions and tomatoes(discard the skin) and keep aside. Heat oil in a non stick cooking pan. Add grated onions and fry till golden brown. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder and mix well. Now add the grated tomatoes, ginger paste, garlic paste and mix well. Add little water, cover and cook for 5 to 8 minutes. Add the green peas, cut mushrooms, salt, 1/2 cup water allow it to cook. When the mushrooms are tender, add the cashew nut paste, garam masala powder and keep it on low flame for 5 minutes.
