Guest guest Posted May 11, 2006 Report Share Posted May 11, 2006 Red Cabbage and Apple With Beer 1 medium head red cabbage, shredded 1/2 cup red wine vinegar up to 3/4 2 granny smith apples, peel, core, slice 1/2 cup sugar 3/4 cup water 1 medium onion, diced 1/4 cup butter 1/2 cup beer, up to 3/4 1 small bay leaf 1 pinch cinnamon 1 pinch ground cloves 1 pinch allspice salt and pepper to taste Place all ingredients in a covered pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook slowly for about an hour. Taste and adjust seasonings. If there's too much liquid, uncover and cook until most of the liquid is evaporated. New Messenger with Voice.
