Guest guest
We have potted herbs too, I have a terrible time with cilantro bolting. This year I am going to begin with starts, but immediately plant seeds too so hopefully I can get several crops. I also do basil & oregano. If I can't use it before it goes bad I freeze it. I've done Thyme in the past, I love lemon Thyme but some kid trampled it. We stick tomato plants here and there among the rest of the garden (DH is a landscaper) and my garlic is planted in the same way. It came up beautifully, I can't wait to see what kind of crop I get. We use a lot of garlic. Often I'll get a big bag from Sam's Club and split it with our Italian landscape designer, Igor, who also uses a lot in his cooking. (he is the one who turned me on to Eggplant Parmesan). His wife won't let him get a whole bag, so we share. We have the Square Foot Gardening book too, I haven't read it but DH has. We have another book called 'The Edible Garden' which was enlightening. I haven't paged through it in years though. AMyF
