Guest guest
Seeing Timmy's Thrice Peppered Stroganoff reminded me of my favourite mushroom stroganov recipe - I haven't cooked this for ages so I think I shall pop out to the shops and pick up some green beans so that I can make it for dinner tonight. Christie Spicy Mushroom Stroganov Serves 4 15ml (1Tbps) sunflower oil 2 small onions, finely chopped 2 cloves garlic, crushed 350g (12 oz) button mushrooms, quartered 300g (10 oz green beans, sliced 1 medium red (bell) pepper, sliced 2 tsp paprika 2 tsp dill weed 1 tsp chopped fresh thyme 1 Tbsp soy sauce/mushroom ketchup 100ml (4 fl oz) single cream (half and half) 100ml (4 fl oz) plain yoghurt 1 tsp cornflour (cornstarch) 4-6 drops Tabasco sauce salt and black pepper Gently heat oil, stir in chopped onion and garlic and cook until softened. Add vegetables, paprika, herbs and soy sauce/mushroom ketchup. Simmer gently for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Mix together cream, yoghurt and cornflour, then stir into vegetables. Add Tabasco sauce and season well with salt and pepper. Simmer gently for a further 5 minutes.
