Guest guest
Something to think about: Your brain does not know the difference between the real thing and " sugar free " . Whether you eat real or fake, your taste buds taste sweet and tell your brain to tell your pancreases to secrete insulin when. That is why it is better to eat the real thing in complete moderation and stay away from the fake. I could not stand it when I worked medical at the hospital and the diabetes teacher would tell patients to eat sugar free. Must I say AMERICANS are at a disadvantage because WE know NOTHING about nutrition and our GOVERNMENT does not support it. It is SAD!!! (please note: if you are a brittle diabetic, do not go and eat sweets because of what I said. Most are insulin resistant and your sugar will skyrocket!!!) It makes my skin crawl when someone is on a diet and gorges out on diet foods for this reason!!! when your body dumps out the insulin, your sugar drops, causing you to EAT FOOD!!!! Therefore you go into the YO-YO effect. It is terrible!! When your sugar drops, you get sleepy, irritable, hungry, jittery, cold and clammy. (Donna, bet those diet drink consumers at your work are very productive and the best to be around.........NOT!!! LOL!!!) Also, Splenda is 3 molecules of chlorine (so we are bleaching ourselves peachy clean, lol!!) and one part hydrogen. Nothing healthy about it at all. hope this helps, Julie from the aspartame link I found this: http://www.issplendasafe.com/. Apparently, it isn't. Me, I use the real thing or nothing at all. Moderation is key in my life. Not quite sure what I'd so if I had to go sugarless. While I'm babbling...my FIL frustrates me to no end. Over Easter break, he'd munch away on several pieces of bread the restaurants provided, ate pasta, etc. etc. then wouldn't eat dessert if it wasn't sugar free because he's trying to avoid diabetes. Thanks for letting me vent for a moment. Beth chelsea <chelsea_cheetah wrote: Is it safe? I see a lot of Splenda ads with children eating baked goods made with Splenda.
