Guest guest
Do you have certain foods you must avoid? I know chocolate is one. I've heard onions are bad for migraine sufferers. Is that true? My sister thinks onions might cause hers but she can't pinpoint if that's the case. Kenia
Guest guest
I suffered from Migraines for years and found out Aspartame is what caused mine. I cut out the Aspartame and have not had one since. It is amazing what that drug does to your body (must I say, pickles it?) Julie Do you have certain foods you must avoid? I know chocolate is one. Guest guest
I can only answer this in general terms. Ittakes me a long time to diagnose individually and find out food allergies, etc. I have to ask a lot of questions and do some tests to find out what things are good and not so good for people. That is why a post I put up yesterday was controversial. It was about milk. I am just talking about the health effects now and not ethical, environmental, etc. effects. Those arrepersonal choices. Milk itself is a good food. In the West, we drink so much and have it with other things so much, the whole dynamic changes. Milk products are one of the products that is a great number of people are allergic to. I have a friend in India who is an Ayurvedic doctor and he insists that if people came to India aand had their milk and went through hsi healing regimen that no one would have problems. It may be true but I do not think so. The reason is that people become allergic to things because an emotion becomes tied to a certain allergin for many reasons. One is generic triggers. We have pesticides and vaccines, etc. that are in milk from the foods the cow eats. We have a lot of food additives and alot of them are decidedly unhealthy added to milk. Just look at the ingredients in ice cream. White sugar is usually added to milk and milk itself creates mucous. Mucous is not a bad thing. We just need hte right balance. I am saying that we need to treat pepole individually. Different people can be allergic to different allergins. Some people can even be allergic to water. We can use different methods to find out what a person is allergic to. One is allergy testing. Some others are muscle testing(kinesiology), food elimination diets, etc. Other foods are not good for some people. This has nothing to do with allergies but with the nature of the food. For instance, sweet foods are nurturing and building foods. When you have a sickness, youdo not awant to build but to cleanse so don't have sweet foods. If a person is hot and sweaty after just playing basketball, spicy foods are the worst. Watermelon would be perfect. This is all I want to go into this now. because this could go on for pages. To answer your question, I have never had a migrane. Generally onions would probably be good for a migrane. However, onions (and especially raw onions) would be contraindicated in case of too much " fire " . Amy F said she likes spicy food and has it a lot. She also said she is a fire sign.. I would need a lot more information but just those things tell me that eating spicy foods did not help her migrane and since she is firery (probably ) already then spicy foods can drive the symptoms deeper into the body. Cooked onions are probably okay but onions are a spiice. Chilis are the hottest. If that is the case, she should not eat spicy foods. However, if someone gets migranes from eating cheese sandwiches and ice cream, then most likely (besides cutting those items out) spicy foods would be the best thing for that person at this time. Chocolate is something I do not recommend to anyone. Carob is much healthier. I know a lot of studies are coming out about it'[s antioxidant properties but I still do not think it is heaalthy. It has lots of caffeine. It is all processed with alkali. It usually has white sugar in it. I have never found anyone test strong when I muscle test with white sugar. I even have a friend who muscle ested body builders and they all tested weak with sugar. When guys like that see that a food makes them weaker, they change fast. Hope this helps. Let me know. Try some of these things out for a few days and find out for yourself. GB Re: headaches AmyF and Guru Do you have certain foods you must avoid? I know chocolate is one.
