This looks like a wonderful loaf, I can use my TVP econstituted in it instead.

I'm very happy to add this to the files.

I think will try it and add a dash of liquid smoke, some chopped onion and

parsley and old fashioned oats, they add the chewy consistency to a loaf and

probably a 1/4 cup of slivered almonds.

That's funny you mention the lentil loaf. I made a loaf tonight that

has burger crumbles, oats and bread crumb in it. Everyone ate it,

but I am still going to tweak it for next time. :)

I believe this is one of Chef Deb's recipes from vegsource.com:

Meat'loaf

2 cups Gimme Lean, or Morningstar Farms Burger Crumbles, thawed ***I

used crumbles

1 cup dry breadcrumbs

1/2 cup quick oats

1/4 cup ketchup

1 Tb onion powder

1 tsp garlic powder

1 Tb Ener-G Egg Replacer (dry)

1 cup hot water

Pan Spray

Tomato Sauce or gravy

In a large bowl, put burger, crumbs, and oats.

Add ketchup, onion, garlic, and Ener-G.

Pour on hot water, and mix well.

Form into a loaf, and put in sprayed baking pan.

Pour tomato sauce or gravy over loaf.

Cover with foil.

Bake at 325 F for 30 - 40 minutes, basting with more

tomato sauce or gravy once or twice.

Remove cover for last 5 minutes.

Serve with additional sauce or gravy.

*** I cooked about 10-15 minutes longer than called for. (It was my

first time trying this out and I was afraid of it having a mushy

consistency.) I was going to use gravy, but opted for a ketchup/

brown sugar glaze. Next time I would use more crumbles (2 bags

instead of a little over 1), and add chopped onion. I think some

diced veggies would be good in it too, but on it's own with the added

crumble, it would be more like a meatloaf than a " dinner loaf " as I

call them.

I bet this would be good the next day, reheated.
