Guest guest
I had my friends come to help me make a fence in the backyard. I make this in the crockpot my sister le me have. It was really good and not one said nothing about no meat in it. They must think the TVP is meat, I didn't say nothing about it. I still laugh at the name of this. Paul Tijuana Jail-House Chili 3 garlic cloves, minced 2 onions, finely chopped 1 celery stalk, chopped 2 Tbls. olive oil 1 cup reconstituted TVP 1 (4 ounce) can mild green chiles, diced 1 (11-14 ounce) can Rotel tomatoes (they have spice but another brand in Mexican seasoning will do) 1 (1 lb. 12 ounce) can stewed tomatoes, broken up 1 (1lb. 14 ounce) can chili beans 2 cups vegetable broth 1 to 2 Tbls. chili powder 1 tsp. cumin 1 Tbl. dried oregano 1/4 to 2/3 Tbl. cayenne pepper 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper Place in soup pot and brown onion, celery and garlic in olive oil until tender. Add all other ingredients and bring to a boil, cover with lid on slant, simmer on low for 45 minutes. Stir oten as chili cooks. Adjust seasonings and serve. *Note* Make ahead and serve, gets even better as the spices blend.
