Guest guest
Heather, The cheapest way to get almond milk is to make it yourself. It isthe recommended yogic substitute for children when they are not nursing. The other recommended substitute is whey, which was covered in another post on making paneer or the curds from split milk. Of course almond milk is great for adults also. Almond Milk 1 cup water 5 almonds Honey to taste The way I do this is to take the almonds and boil them in water until the skins are loose. Rinse off with cold water. Peel the almonds. The almonds need to soak for a few hours so the almonds become more digestable.. They will plump up to about twice their original size. The original recipe calls for soaking the almonds first but I found that it is hard ot peel the almonds that way because they plump up. When the skin is loose, they peel easier. Then, put the almonds and water in a blender with some honey to taste. Strain out with a cheesecloth. GB Newby Hi all, I'm new here - my biggest question I have right now is we had been drinking soy milk and loving it - after some scary info I read on the affects of non-fermented soy products - I decided to switch to almond milk - it is good but so expensive I was wondering if anyone knows of any bulk way/source of buying almond milk? Looking forward to learning new recipes. Heather Gurubandhu If you cannot see God in all, You cannot see God at all. Yogi Bhajan New Messenger with Voice.
