Guest guest
Paula, I think Amy also mentioned she had one. It is called a Santoku knife. Here is a picture. The one in the picture looks better than mine since it has those slots or things on thesides so the veggies will not adhere to the knife. Paula, I have no idea what that things you have is. Have you ever tried to use it? Have you done a Google search for it? GB Handy Kitchen Things--Guru Guru named some of the things he really uses a lot in his kitchen. I think I must have the same kind of Japanese knife. We got it in Hawaii at least 25 years ago, and it has been through 2 handles so far. The blade is very heavy and flat on top. It is wonderful--my very favorite knife. It has a few little tiny notches out of the sharp edge, but I expect it to last at least as long as I do! I love my cuisinart, and my blender, and my bread machine too---oh yes! and all my cast iron frying pans. Here is one thing I bought that I never use...and want to know if anyone in the group has one and actually has found a good use for it. It is a pottery steamer (?) designed to fit down onto the top of a pan of boiling water maybe. It has a raised cone in the middle with a hole in it. It looks like a pottery casserole with a heavy lid when it's just sitting on the counter. I think I acquired this back in the late 70's, or early 80's. Everytime I look in the back of the cabinet I wonder " what was I thinking? " LOL..... Paula Gurubandhu If you cannot see God in all, You cannot see God at all. Yogi Bhajan Messenger with Voice.
