I know what you mean about once they're in school... Like I've found

at birthday parties, social gatherings and celebrations as well as

school, it's usually the adults that make it seem so strange being

vegetarian. My son doesn't wish to be like everyone else in school,

he wishes *they* were all veggie. :) So many adults put the focus

on foods and the kids could care less. I used to worry about the

birthday foods being well-received at our parties, and the kids are

so busy running around having a good time, the food is the last thing

on their minds.

My son started wearing a " vegan " rubber bracelet to school. His phys

ed teacher asked him what it meant and it got them talking about it.

The teacher confessed he " tried going vegetarian, but it was too

hard " ... It was neat that it got a conversation started though.

Anyway... ;)

I look forward to talking with all of you about these types of

situations!

mom of 3 (....so far.... we'll see!) lol

I'm a single mom to the wonderful 6.5 year old Lucia. I've been veg

for around 15 years,

and she's been veg her whole life. I thought when she started

kindergarten this year the

peer pressure would pick up and she'd want to at least try meat.

At our schools we have a taco buffet separate from the other meals and

dishes. The taco line for veggie tacos is the longest. Of course they have the

taco meat, but most of the kids just love the veggie tacos. Another favorite is

the lettuce wrap buffet...tons of veggies. And the fresh pico de gallo goes

on everything. It is to die for.
