Guest guest
I absolutely love my crock pots....yes, " pots. " I have several different sizes and I use them all the time. I'm not in very good health, and sometimes I wouldn't be able to get dinner on the table at all, without my crock pots. Joanie

I have 2 of those, and also 4 fondue pots......The crock pots are awesome for cooking beans & lentil stews. Among many other things.....lasagne comes to mind. Japanese big bowl with tofu and sprouts is good too if you don't need the time to let it cook too long. Oh my gosh, my grandma's stuffed cabbage recipe translates to vegetarian easily, if anyone is interested....oh now darn it I'm getting hungry....AmyF

Guest guest
I use a old metal tortilla warmer you put over the burner of the stove. I think it's from mexico, I never seen them for sale. It's one I got from my family house. I also use the loaf pan over and over. Probably the used crock pot because I put beans in it every week so that saves me time and I don't have to be home while it cooks. They sound wonderful. Quarter a cabbage. Boil until soft enough to roll. You'll have to cut the stem out probably. (my daughters love to eat them raw with a smidge of salt). And you could use the cabbage broth as a starter for vegetable broth if you have the stuff to put in. Filling is diced onion & rice. Maybe some green pepper or yellow squash. A bit of basil is good too. Mix well, and roll them in the boiled cabbage, however much per roll as you want (personally the cabbage is my favorite part so my rolls are heavy on the cabbage. My brother and I used to barter for filling vs. cabbage). Oh, you could also add veggie-meat if you wanted. (I can't remember the name of it, brain delay this morning). 1 large can of tomato soup, but don't add the water, (or homemade if you really want yummy & have the time). Layer the bottom of a broiler pan with some soup, put in a layer of rolls, top with more soup. Maybe a couple of grinds of pepper on top. Bake at 350 for an hour. I am a hot sauce freak so I usually use Texas Pete or Red Hot on my cabbage. but my mother swears I eat hot sauce on ice cream (I really don't).
