Guest guest Posted April 12, 2006 Report Share Posted April 12, 2006 Spicy Molasses Cookies 2 cups flour 1 cup sugar 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter or marg., softened 1/3 cup molasses 3 tbsp milk - soy is fine 1 egg - large 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp ground ginger 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp ground cloves 1/8 tsp salt Sugar for rolling Combine flour, 1 cup sugar, butter, molasses, milk, egg, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt in a large bowl. Using an electric mixer, beat at low speed 2 to 3 minutes or until well blended. Scrape bowl often. Cover and refrigerate until firm enough to handle, at least 4 hours or overnight. Preheat oven to 350 F. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until slightly firm to touch.
