Guest guest
Check down at your local health food store and ask them what vege turkey or vege chicken choices they have. Worthington has a fake chicken meat where a chef I know squeezed out the excess fluids. Then put it on a small stick. He dipped it in beaten egg and milk batter, then dipped it in herbs and spices and crushed cracker meal and then fried it. It was good! If you cannot find turkey substitute, finding a chicken substitute may be the way to go for your family. Just to let you know, the ex Princess of Hondurass (her mother was Queen before her mom took her two kids and fled Honduras, which now has a voting system since then) ate this vege chicken prepared this way and loved it! So did I and it was another reason I chose to become Vege. Then prepare your meal like you usually would on the other things per vegetables and rolls, etc.. Even the green bean casserole. :-) Sandy Abernathy ---- valleydoula <valleydoula wrote: Hello there everybody, So this will be my first Easter without a turkey. My kids are devastated and my daughter says she is not the vegetarian, so why can't I make one. We are Christian so of course this is a special day for us. What would one serve in place of the turkey? I can do all the other stuff like the stuffing, potatoes, veggies and even the gravy. But what does one do in place of the turkey? Anyone here face this dilemna as a new veggie? My kids are hard to please so any good ideas would be great. Carmen
