Guest guest Posted April 6, 2006 Report Share Posted April 6, 2006 How do any of you that go to pick fresh fruits at farms, or shop at places like Whole Foods that aren't close by, plan to change your shopping habits? Or do you? Gas prices are strangling us! Our nearest whole foods is over 65 miles away. we keep petitioning for one, but no luck. We have no trader Joe's at all. I have lots of family owned farms that we go to throughout the growing season. Out of season we are without. Wonderful VA apples, strawberries and such. But that is driving as well. I already have to load up my children, but an extra long drive is not at all pleasant. Trying to feed them healthy foods + be frugal is getting near impossible!!
