Guest guest
Susie, rinse it really well in the mesh strainer and let it dry for a while. Toaste in pan before you cook it. The flavor completely changes and gives it a nutty roasted taste. I love this quick " Korean Salad " I make this recipe without tasting the quinoa but when I make a pilaf I pre-toast for more flavor. " Korean Salad " recipe post: 2 cups cooked quinoa 1 cup bean sprouts 1/4 cup chopped green onions 2 Tblsps. lite soy sauce or tamari sauce 1 Tblspn. sesame oil 1 Tblspn. rice vinegar 1/2 tsp. sugar 1 clove minced garlic 1/4 tsp. gr. black pepper dash of cayenne pepper or hot pepper flakes 1/3 cup pine nuts toasted or sliced almonds toasted. Favorite type lettuce leaves to serve on. Enjoy, you aren't the only person that didn't want their quinoa well........LOL What a bad taste if you don't and this is actually a delicious, nutricious grain.......................Donna Blanch bean sprouts in boiling water for one minute. Drain well. Combine green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sugar, garlic, black pepper and cayenne pepper. Toss with quinoa, sprouts and toasted nuts. Chill for one hour and serve on lettuce leaves. thanks donna, what is your favorite quinoa recipe? sometime this week, i'm thinking i will make the quinoa and corn pilaf (http://f4.grp.fs.com/v1/QDaSQrAXAfHa-1jZKIP0mCrl-tNQdnYvS_0XMeNWGo5snllgM0\ XMdmE-8jWuQgMvJhryY0Dhd96EIkjeFELZ/Side%20Dishes/Grains/Quinoa%20and%20Corn%20Pi\ laf)that amy posted and use it to stuff roasted poblanos. i'll probably add some diced zucchini to it to make it more substancial. i tried quinoa several years ago and remember it tasting funky...i'm sure i didn't rinse it enough. i'll make sure to rinse if very well this time. now, i'm looking forward to trying it again. susie --- GeminiDragon <thelilacflower wrote: > Hi Susie, Let me know if you need anymore recipes. > I eat quinoa all the time and even have a " quinoa > cookbook " wouldn't you know?
