Guest guest
I was hoping you would update us. Wonderful news. You can also crumble it and ue for a taco filling. I do that all the time. Don't our files have great recipes? Donna Jane <twoslim wrote: I made the lentil loaf (#3 with revisions) and it was great! Thanks again for all your suggestions. It truly is a recipe that you can change and it still comes out good. I used Mrs Dash, minced fresh garlic, Italian seasoning and tarragon leaves because I was out of curry. I used catsup and a beaten egg because I was out of soy sauce. It might have changed the flavor from the original but to me, this version was just like meatloaf. We had it in sandwiches, but leftovers will be re-heated and I'll add a mushroom sauce to pour over the slices. YUMMY! I can't wait to try more loafs from the files. Guest guest
I wonder Jane if it held together differently with an egg (the recipe I'm thinking of doesn't have egg in it)...so many ways to make lentil loaf... And bread too...Donna, you should have seen my face over the avocado bread...is it green? lol...did you add spice or vanilla...is it nutty in flavor...so interesting!! m
Guest guest
I wondered about how the loaf would stay together also, but since we are not vegan, I put an egg in it. I haven't tried the loaf with oats in it, but wouldn't the oats hold it together in that recipe? When I make oatmeal it gets dense if I let it set for a while. Guest guest
I've only made #2 I'm addicted to it. Believe me it stays together, must be the oats. No egg needed......Donna Jane <twoslim wrote: I wondered about how the loaf would stay together also, but since we are not vegan, I put an egg in it. Guest guest
Hi Amy: I find that the loaf need to sit 5 to 10 minutes between the cooking and slicing, this helps it to firm up a bit.
