Guest guest
Just a heads up...Smart Balance contains whey...unless you are blessed enough to find the kind with omega 3's in it Earth Baalance is non-hydroginated, vegan and VERY yummy. There is also Soy Garden spread which I am told tastes more like butter but I haven't had butter in ages (unless I didn't know! My family used to sneak stuff in to " keep me healthy " ) ~Mel Read only the mail you want - Mail SpamGuard.
Guest guest
>>>Just a heads up...Smart Balance contains whey...unless you are blessed enough to find the kind with omega 3's in it Smart Balance Lite is vegan, though. I usually can find it at our local Super WalMart. I really like the flavor, but I LOVE the flavor of Earth Balance (but it usually costs more. . .). Guest guest
OK!! I bought the earth balance. I like it! yay!! I tried it on some saltines just to check it out, it was good. No over butter taste, but I didn't realize that margarines still contain dairy. I live in Philadelphia. you would think we would have more choices here on veg stuff, but grrrr, no. I wanted to check out the vegan cheese, well, we don't have any. All the cheeses I looked at have milk protein, grrr, and I cannot find vegenaise. I will have to order it online ;O( oh well, at least I can so that huh? Guest guest
Hey Chanda, you are in the Northeast, aren't you? How far are you from Jenkintown? There is a Trader Joe's and Whole Foods right around the corner from each other there. It might be worth a little trip...if maybe just to stock up on stuff. And there is an Asian Market in Cheltenham on the corner of Old York Rd and Cheltenham Ave that has a great variety of cheap and good tofu as well as different sauces, etc. I don't go to the Northeast section of the city much so don't know much about what you have there. Guest guest
my personal favorite vegan cheese it vegan gourmet... you can order it online, but you can also try to get your local stores to carry it! =) it's yummmy! as for margarine.. i do earth balance, and skip most others because of the hydrogenated vegetable oil they contain.. YUCK!!! and we don't do dairy either! =) jenni On Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at 08:47 AM, Maria/Chanda wrote: > OK!! I bought the earth balance. I like it! yay!! Guest guest
oh yes, I don't know my way around much, I have a bad sense of direction, but I do know some Jenkintown. There is a spiritual shop there called Aphrodite's doveon Main St. It's where I buy all my incense, crystals, and other spiritual supplies. I wonder if it's far from there. I could feed two birds with one seed and hit all 3 places. Thanks for the info, Chanda - Jen Lott Wednesday, May 18, 2005 8:55 AM Re: Smart Balance: not vegan Hey Chanda, you are in the Northeast, aren't you? How far are you from Jenkintown? Guest guest
Both are really easy to find...You know Old York Rd (611), Right? Trader Joe's is on Old York Rd. and the Fairway (right past the Barnes and Noble.). Whole Foods is on the Fairway all the way down near the sad Baederwood Movie Theatre. Hmm...I'd be curious to check out that Aphrodite's. I don't know if I know where Main Street is in Jenkintown. Is it where all the other little stores are just past Washington Lane? I have cats so can't burn incense really, but the crystals and such would be neat to check out.
