Guest guest
As previously mentioned...I've got a bit of a germ phobe worry thing, hee hee...however, I also hate to just throw those bottles away. I heard some lady on one of those morning shows talking about it and only half registered what she said. As I remember, of greatest concern was keeping water in a water bottle for a long time at room temp (ie a day or more) and sipping it over and over. If you keep it cold you are okay. And you can wash and reuse the bottle a few times. I don't think you can really get in and get them clean though, so if I do this I don't do it for long. I'm not really crazy about the sports bottle either - the lids/straws are just impossible to keep clean. So I end up using disposable ones and recycling...then I don't feel quite so bad. And as Jiraph mentioned - we also freeze them and they keep things cool, the kids love drinking that really cold water too! I did experiment with one of those cooler things with a spout & cups, but the water had a funny taste coming out of it...I suppose it would work well for juice, but we limit juice...perhaps iced tea? m
