Guest guest
For spring. I got a recipe over the weekend from PETA's website for spring rolls. I bought rice paper the last time I was at the Asian grocery store and decided to make some Saturday after a very busy (yet fun!) day at a community day...(amazing how chopping veggies relaxes and calms me so much after alot of busy-ness and running around). Anyway, the recipe from PETA's website recommended cooking the spring rolls, but I have always found I kind of like the uncooked spring rolls. So I followed all the directions except for the cooking part. The ingredients I put into it were all really intense together, I found (btw. cilantro, garlic, my own choice of hot peppers, scallions, lemon, vermicilli that was soaked in vinegar & hot sauce). So next time maybe I will maybe have one or two zinger type ingredients and have everything else kind of more mellow. They were still good, but very intense tasting, even for me. If you make spring rolls, what do you put in yours? Jen " Blessed is (s)he who makes her/his companions laugh. " -- The Koran Discover Find restaurants, movies, travel and more fun for the weekend. Guest guest
i make summer rolls all the time. i usually make mine with lettuce, rice vermicelli, cilantro, mint, thai basil, carrots, cucumbers, and sometimes fried tofu. i have made some with shredded beets, but didn't like that. i serve them with a dipping sauce made up of equal parts hoisin and water with a splash of soy sauce topped with crushed peanuts and lots of thai chiles (or serranos). susie --- Jen Lott <celestial726 wrote: > If you make spring rolls, what do you put in yours? > > Jen > Mail Mobile Take Mail with you!
